AMBudget: A simple website that can help you save an extraordinary amount of money

For as long as it’s been around, I simply used Google Spreadsheet and a whole host of formulas to try and figure out my spending and saving trends, but what I gained in flexibility, I lost in ease of use. I didn’t realize that until I tried to get my girlfriend to track her spending using my system of complicated cells and programming. What we both realized is that we needed a simple budgeting application that would let us know how much trouble our spending and saving patterns were getting us into.

There are a few websites that have stepped up to this task. Mint, Quicken Online, and Wesabe provide the amazing service of automatically downloading your transactions and showing you want you spent your money on. By that point, it's already too late.

Other sites facilitate the proactive approach that i wanted. Pear Budget, Bill Q, and IndyBudget deliver a taste of budgeting power, but limit real functionality until you pay for it.

My original goal for AMBudget.com was to scratch my own itch. While pursuing my selfish desires, I’ve provided relief to tons of people. I now have a new goal of providing a *FREE, high quality budgeting website to the world. May AMBudget.com find that spot between your 3rd and 4th vertebrae as it has for us.
